Love is ... wine?
Former cast members Bartise Bowden , Micah Lussier , Marshall Glaze and Taylor Rue returned to the pods to help launch Cupcake Vineyards new “Love Is Wine” bottle ahead of the season 6 premiere on Feb. 14.
“I got to get back into the pods, and this time with a script so I thought it would be a little easier,” Bowden, 27, jokes with PEOPLE about filming the campaign video (above). He adds, “We essentially got back into the pods, made it seem like we were dating each other a little bit, but at the end of the day we were dating a bottle of chardonnay.”
While answering the question “Is love truly...wine?,” cast members drank the chardonnay — available in stores and online starting Feb 1. — from the well-known golden goblets seen on the show.
Bowden, 27, admittedly was not a chardonnay fan in the past, but getting to know it better in the pods has given him a change of heart. “Actually, it tastes very good,” the star says. “I’m not a huge white wine fan. Normally I’ve done the red wine, but this chardonnay is pretty tasty.”
Reentering the pods brought back fond memories for Bowden. “It was cool to get back there and ‘date,’ sit on the couch, write in the journal and go back through all of the emotions,” he says.
While filming Love Is Blind , he says his "best times" were in those very pods. “Walking into the pod the first time, that adrenaline rush and the excitement, those were truly the best times,” he tells PEOPLE. “But also the lounge with the guys, kind of going through the love triangles and calming each other down.”
This time around, Bowden felt instantly connected to his fellow cast members in the pods. “Obviously going through Love Is Blind you kind of have a bond together,” he says. “I don’t know if we want to call it a trauma bond, or whatever, but we all got along right from the jump. Marshall, Micah, Taylor and I are all good friends now.”
Bowden, who is dad to 1-year-old Hayden , reveals that he is still “single and looking for love.”
“I’m focused on parenting,” he says, “but I wouldn’t shy away from a relationship or getting to know somebody seriously.”
Through the collaboration with Cupcake Vineyards, customers can scan a QR code under the cap of Love Is Wine Chardonnay and other Cupcake Vineyards wines to enter the “Golden Goblet Sweepstakes” for their chance to win the metallic cup and a trip to a resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico that has been featured on Love Is Blind .
