Sève: New luxury jungle hotel opens in Riviera Maya
Sève opens in Chemuyil, Mexico, with nine luxury lodges, wellness facilities and a restaurant showcasing contemporary Mexican cuisine. Sève, a new luxury hotel in Chemuyil, Mexico's Riviera Maya, will welcome its first guests in December. The property, which includes nine lodges within a forest of Zapote, Chechén and Chacá trees, combines experiential hospitality, wellness and architecture designed around the natural environment. The project was developed with Lola Hilsenkopf, her mother, Chantal Abad, and her partner, Alexandre Thobois, and architect Franck Guevin. The design allows existing trees to grow through openings in the roofs, while no straight architectural line extends beyond 40 metres. The nine canopy lodges feature indoor-outdoor bathrooms, rooftop terraces with suspended lounging nets and floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The Orchidée Spa features four private treatment pavilions with floor-time glass walls overlooking the forest. The hotel operates entirely on solar energy and prohibits automobiles within its grounds.
